Terry Goodkind is the author of the Sword of Truth series. For those who aren't familiar them, the series primarily revolves around a pair of lovers and their (mis)adventures while trying to save their world from the clutches of evil tyrants and (cue scary music) The Keeper!
| Title | Synopsis | My Two Cents |
|---|---|---|
| Wizard's First Rule | Boy meets girl, falls in love, and saves the world. | The pacing was a bit slow (almost 900 pages to describe a 3 month story), but I enjoy that style of writing, so I'll say it's a good book. |
| Stone of Tears | Richard goes off to learn wizardry.  Kahlan teaches guerilla-warfare to children. | By far, this is the best book in the series. I'd suggest to anyone that doesn't have over 1000 hours to kill: STOP HERE!. The rest of the series is only worth it if you have nothing better to do. |
| Blood of the Fold | War breaks out. | This is an utterly forgettable book. Unless you're anal about reading a series in its entirety (like me), skip this one. |
| Temple of the Winds | A magical plague spreads across the land. | Horrible book. Skip it. |
| Soul of the Fire | Richard and Kahlan try to convince people that tyrants are bad. | I liked this one better than the previous two because it got away from the Richard/Kahlan Duo of Horrible Leadership and focused on other people instead. After Blood & Temple, I needed the break. |
| Faith of the Fallen | Nicci takes Richard as her wife. Kahlan fights another war. | If you skip the first quarter of the book, and then any chapter with Kahlan in it, it's actually quite good. Taken as a complete work, though, I'd only rank it as OK. |
