Works by Aaron Baird

I don't write very often, and hardly ever unless it's for a specific purpose (such as a class).  However, when I do buckle down and actually put words on a page, I really enjoy it.  These are some of the stories, essays, and poems that I've done.  I have no particular attachment to the current list, they're just the ones I've stumbled across so far.Note: These are in their finished state because I don't intend to actively improve them, not because I think they are perfect as is.  I'm certainly open to constructive criticism, but do try to be kind.

 Title   Synopsis   My Two Cents
Perfect Parenting I get smacked around. I'm not sure if I actually remember this or if I'm just remembering the story from my perspective.  In any case, by all rights, my parents should have been locked up.
Andrea An interview with my niece. I could have done much better with this, but I didn't have that much creative juice left.
Untitled Flash fiction. I'm actually quite proud of this one.  I nailed the ending in the version I turned in, but I can't find, so this is what you get.
I'm Sorry A conversation of the cause and effect of writing a paper.
The Tree Me whining.
Amateur Insomniac Advantures at 3am. The title is probably the best thing about this one.
My Own Man The difference between my father and I.
In a Cafe A poem. These poems are part of my "Why Computer Scienists Shouldn't Write Poetry" series.
Untitled A poem. Read this poem at your own risk.
Untitled A poem. I actually had to read this one in class.  They were thankfully supportive.
Untitled A poem. This got applause when I read it aloud.  It was the poem everyone in the class wanted to write, but didn't have the guts to.
Retirement Speech A speech given at my retirement party I wrote this in high school.  My english teacher liked it so much, he had the class reenact it.
Collected Poems Various formula poems. I most of these are from middle school.
